Madhya Pradesh has started a project to document and digitize the knowledge of tribal healers, particularly among the Bhil and Gond communities. Ethnobotanists, aided by local students, are interviewing elders to preserve medicinal plant recipes, forest rituals, and diagnostic methods. The database, once complete, will be available in local languages and include video tutorials. The goal is to prevent loss of indigenous wisdom while protecting intellectual rights. Healers are being trained in sustainable harvesting and conservation ethics as part of the initiative.
